History of Lodges

Jotunheimen Lodge #286 was chartered in Viroqua, Wisconsin on October 15, 1925 with 39 charter members. Two of those charter members are still active, Earl Kvale and Mabel Tollefson Bolstad.

The Lodge held its first meetings upstairs over what was known as "Little Chicago", and Jens T. Vigdahl served as the first President. Meetings were later held over the Ostrum Store, then in the community room of the Federal Savings Bank. Since 1962 we have met in the State Bank Community Room.

Jotunheimen has 106 members at the present time, 12 of whom are Life members. Our regular monthly meetings are held the second Thursday at 8 P.M.
