Mandt Lodge 5-314 members and Stoughton Kubb Club members, Todd Fossum and Jens Arneson presented Marty Lamers a check for $200 from their tournament proceeds. On Wednesday, October 8 th , 2025, the Askeladden Lodge held a dinner theatre production of “The Uprooting” to commemorate the Restauration Bicentennial. Lodge and community members (101 total) attended the event at the Portage Zhang Senior Center in Portage, Michigan.

Mandt Lodge 5-314 partners with First Lutheran Church for a bowling event. This is a great community outreach and members of both groups get to mingle and socialize. Mandt Sports Director Todd Fossum totals up scores as Pastor Sara Ehrets enjoys watching the bowlers.

For its February members gathering at the Swedish Club in Farmington Hills Michigan, Nordkap asked members to show-and-tell about a favorite Rosemaling object. Secretary Mary Morehead displayed a lidded bowl with a fetching message, “As the flowers bloom, I shall love thee forever.”
Counselor Bob Giles chose a Rosemaling necktie he purchased at District 5 Convention as his favorite Rosemaling object to show-and-tell at Nordkap’s February gathering at the Swedish Club in Farmington Hills Michigan.
Mandt Lodge 5-314 supports Masse Moro campers with matching grants for the District 5 Youth Heritage Camp. Camper Titan Malouf recently shared his experiences at Masse Moro and was promoting the camp to other youth who want to learn more about their Norwegian heritage.
Mandt Lodge 5-314 Cultural Committee member, Laurie Barrett, used Norskedalen’s Anne’s Letters Program as an interactive lodge meeting activity. Small groups discussed one of the letters that immigrant Anne wrote and discussed what that time period might be like.

Nordkap’s Constitution Day celebration at the Swedish Club in Farmington Hills Michigan included the lodge’s unique “Cod Toss” contest with contestants competing to throw a frozen fish for distance. The winner in each category received a fish-themed prize. Mandt Lodge 5-314 members Jerry Erdahl and Todd Tupper are the chief cooks and kitchen chairs during their Syttende Mai weekend. Mandt offers a three-day bake sale and two-days of sit down dinners.
Mandt Lodge 5-314 has a third-grade cultural day for all third grade students in Stoughton. Over 230 students come and there are 18 cultural stations. Each year there is a contest and this group are the winners of the design and build a gnome contest. Their entries were displayed at a local dentist office during Syttende Mai.
Members of the Music City Vikings attended a Nashville Soccer Club game to cheer on Edvard (Eddi) Tagseth, a Norwegian midfielder from Neset near Trondheim, and got to meet him after the game!
