An update from one of the cookies trains that safely made it to Hayward on Wednesday in preparation for Thursday's Barnebirkie! Lucy Ghastin, Judy Ghastin and Cheryl Wille-Schlesser headed up with a lot of cookies and hopefully had room for luggage! From southern Wisconsin we have a total of 245.5 dozen cookies. That includes Cheryl’s cookies from Mt. Horeb
And peeking over the cookies are Lucy Ghastin and Cheryl Wille-Schlesser with Judy Ghastin as the driver!

We met the lady with Lucy Ghastin at our restaurant meal on Wednesday night. She talked to us about all our Norwegian sweaters and said she would wear her sweater and come see our cookie booth at the Expo center

We did it! District 5 conquered the snowstorm, brought 900 dozen cookies to the 2023 Barnebirkie in Hayward. Over 800 kiddies and parents said 'tusen takk' to our lodges for the delicious treats. All the Birkie volunteers were so helpful too!
2022 Barnebirkie Day, scenes from the Sons of Norway Cookie Tent! Almost 700 kiddies (lots of parents too), 10,000 cookies, 10 degree weather in Hayward, but sunny. Some little ones even brought a box to hold more cookies! Tusen takk to Sports Director Audrey Severson for coordinating the event...it was a great day!
