The Midwest Viking Festival
is taking place on the UW-Green Bay Viking House grounds, adjacent to the Viking House.

September 23rd and 24th from 10-4

What you'll see at the Festival:

• A Viking encampment with blacksmiths, silversmiths, a potter, weavers, woodworkers, glass bead makers, medieval games (hnaftafl and kubb), archery, and cooks making food with ingredients only available during the Viking Age.
• Performances!  Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to hear stories from the Viking Age told by Sven Tunheim, hear song and tales from Kari Tauring, and watch battle demonstrations showing how the famous weapons of the Viking Age were used in duels and a shield wall.
• Tours of the Viking House by Elspeth and Owen Christiansen.
• Activities for kids (archery, a “Viking Quest” scavenger hunt, kubb, get your name written in runes).
• Rune readings!

Activities and Entertainment

Some of the Vikings will have handcrafted items and books for sale.  Bring your silver!
There will be food for purchase: homemade baked goods from the Sons of Norway, and two food trucks: Caribbean Cruiser and Bacon Burger Company.
with Viking Age living history demonstrators, performers, artists, and more. You'll encounter cooking demonstrations, blacksmithing, woodcrafts, glass bead making, fiber arts, a Viking boat display, battle demonstrations, pottery, axe throwing and more. Food trucks will be on-site from Bacon Burger Company and Caribbean Cruise.
