The workshop will be led by accomplished Rosemaler Kathy “Kass” Mufich, who will introduce participants to the traditional Norwegian folk art of Rosemaling. Often described as the painting art of Norway, Rosemaling is known for its flowing floral designs, vibrant colors, and decorative patterns that have been passed down through generations.

Whether you are an experienced painter or have never picked up a brush, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn the basics of this beautiful Norwegian art form in a welcoming and supportive environment.

“Rosemaling is one of Norway’s most treasured artistic traditions,” organizers said. “If you have ever wanted to learn how to paint in this distinctive style, this is your chance.”

Following the workshop, attendees are encouraged to visit the Norsk Museum’s extensive Rosemaling exhibit, which showcases examples of this decorative folk art and highlights its cultural significance in Norwegian heritage. All painting supplies will be provided. Just bring your desire to learn. The event will be held at the Norway Community Building, located off Route 71 (Cleng Peerson Memorial Highway), directly across from the Norway Store.

Participation is free of charge, but advance reservations are required so organizers can order the necessary supplies.
Seating is limited to 50 guests.
