District Five Webmaster Update
The District 5 Board was recently informed that webmaster, George Sievers, was diagnosed with ALS this past year. George has transitioned the webmaster duties to Duane Kittleson, District 5 Treasurer, who is graciously stepping in until the Board explores options for the website, hosting, and possible changes in the format. At this time all posting requests and other matters related to the website should be directed to Duane Kittleson. His email address is email@example.com.
This past week, we were informed that Georges battle with ALS is progressing quickly and that he is now in hospice care at home. We ask that you keep George and Janice in your thoughts and prayers. Their home address is 308 Park Street, Mt. Horeb, WI 53572. George and Janice have been very devoted members of Sons of Norway on all levels and we are all deeply saddened to learn of his health issues. We are forever indebted to all the work and support George has given to so many members, lodges, and the organization. The board is exploring ways to recognize George for all of his efforts.
District 5 Website Update
The District Board has been exploring options for the District website based on suggestions, comments and other input weve received from lodge members, board members and others. Duane Kittleson is serving as the interim webmaster until a plan is determined.
The Executive Committee (Owen Christianson, Diane Hesseltvan Dinter, Darlene Arneson, and Duane Kittleson) and Publicity Committee Chair Joy Bashara are the committee exploring options and would like your input on:
· Your suggestions for improvements to the website- design, content and other items
· Websites that you like- please send them to us so we can see features that might enhance our website
· Do you or a member in your lodge have skills in website support that might be interested in assisting the District
· Other suggestionsWe appreciate your continued support and patience as George and Janice go through this very difficult time, the District redirects its efforts and needs to help publicize its events as well as your lodges, and we all work for the good of the organization
