Nancy Lorraine Jensen Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Danielle was the receipient in 2020
Hello Ms. Fairchild,
Here is my story:

As the recipient of the Nancy Lorraine Jensen Memorial Scholarship, I am incredibly thankful toward the Sons of Norway Foundation for investing in my education so I have the ability to concentrate my effort on my studies. I have chosen to attend Iowa State as a chemical engineering major not only because I genuinely love studying math and chemistry, and enjoy problem solving, but also because I have a passion for the people I can someday help with this major. After I earn my bachelor’s degree, I plan to work toward my doctorate, specializing in pharmaceutical development. Throughout the years, I have watched close family members suffer through countless harsh diseases: heart disease, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and every type of cancer imaginable, unable to receive or afford proper treatment. My dream is to work in this industry and find a way to make the necessary medicines more affordable and more widely available to patients who have so little hope. Sons of Norway has blessed me beyond I can express by partnering with me as I pursue my education and I cannot wait for the day when those who have sacrificed financially for my education can receive a return on their investment in the form of pharmaceutical treatment for a loved one, or even for themselves.

Thank you once again,
Danielle Eeg
