Viking games will highlight the Sunday, Aug. 1, meeting of Sons of Norway Polar Star Lodge 5-472.
A potluck luncheon and Viking games at 1:30 p.m. outdoors at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 1233 Douglas Ave. in Montgomery.
Attendees should bring a dish to pass and lawn chairs. Hot dogs will be served.
The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.
Prospective members are invited.
Barb Johnson, Polar Star cultural director, said “In honor of the 2021 Olympic games, we will host the Polar Star Viking Games 2021, Viking-inspired challenges.” Members will form three to six-person teams to compete in three games: skattejakt, Viking treasure hunt; kubb and pinne kast, baton and stick throw; and fjordhest stafett, fjord horse relay.
